Raid Finder
1) It's a lower difficulty than normal modes.
2) It will require ilevel 365 gear.
3) The loot system prioritizes people who roll Need and are in the current role for the item (off spec rolls are below main spec rolls)
4) Only the new Dragon Soul raid will be in the LFR tool.
That's pretty much it and totally cribbed from this post on the LFR tool.
Back, Again
No more scheduled World of Warcraft. Suit Up is now a mega casual guild. The goal is to get fun people in the guild who want to run randoms together when they happen to be online. The only reason to have a guild for this, honestly, is to marginalize the amount of absolute stupidity in the LF-tools. After all, a 25 man raid with 5 people you know are competent is probably going to be better than a completely random raid. At the very least, you can laugh about the other people with friends.
Recruitment is totally open now. We're not worrying about roles and it's mostly just friends and family and anyone else who wants to hang with no commitment.
We're so casual, I'm not even going to proof read this post.
Punching Marmots
There's not much content to this post...I just wanted to let everyone know we have earned Critter Kill Squad and you may now buy your Armadillo Pups.
Once a Week
I’ve been trying to add another night a week to speed up progression but for as much of a challenge as that’s presenting I wonder if we should. Suit Up has only raided for 12 total hours and downed 3 bosses. That’s a really good ratio.
The question becomes, should we have more hours or just be more efficient with our current hours?
Raid Sign Ups and You
To avoid pugging I recruit for the guild against raid attendance. For instance, if we have 100% average attendance we need 10 people (10 * 100% = 10). If we have 50% average attendance then we need 20 people (20 * 50% = 10). Quite simply, the more reliable you are, the more reliably you'll have a spot.
To avoid having to wait on people I begin trying to pug spots 15-30 minutes before the raid so we can start on time. I know what to pug based on who signs up so please sign up, mark yourself tentative or out. If you forget to sign up and log on a minute before the raid, I might have already filled your spot.
Here’s a handy list for how I interpret each type of sign up:
Signed up/Accepted - You’ll be at the raid on time and ready to go.
Tentative - You’re 80% sure you can be there. I’ll refrain from pugging the spot until a few minutes before the raid.
Out - You can’t make it.
If you sign up and don’t show without a good reason, I’ll probably force you tentative for the next few raids to prioritize people who schedule the time and stick to it. If you'll be a few minutes late but can definitely make it, just let me know and we'll clear some trash without you (don't take this as an opportunity to avoid having to clear trash).
It’s fine if you can’t make raids. Real life always takes priority and I get that. I also have to make sure the guild can field a 10man raid once or twice a week. If we can't raid, people don't have fun killing Internet monsters, and puppies die. If over-recruiting means you don't get a raid spot just know that at least no puppies died.
If you’re too busy to sign up in-game you can do it on battle.net. You can also pm me on this board, send me a message on Facebook (facebook.com/kerpow82) or email me at phungus@suitupguild.com and let me know if you can make it. Regardless of the method I’ll get the message in a few minutes.
